Haninge Centrum, located south of Stockholm, is undergoing extensive development and expansion of commerce, housing, and a new range of restaurants. As part of this, Niam is acquiring approximately 2,000 square meters of commercial space facing Poseidon Square from Stena Fastigheter.

As part of this, Niam is acquiring approximately 2,000 square meters of commercial space facing Poseidon Square from Stena Fastigheter. Niam is one of the largest real estate actors in the area and has a close collaboration with the municipality in the development of Haninge Centrum.

Haninge Centrum and its surroundings already have several important meeting places, but the area will be further strengthened as the hub and heart of the municipality's urban development, with direct connections to services, commerce, and new residential areas near Haninge Centrum. Examples of changes that Niam plans to implement include a significant facelift of the shopping center and its entrances facing Poseidon Square. Larger glass surfaces, well-thought-out lighting, and a more prominent facade will contribute to a more welcoming center and improved accessibility. One of the new tenants who have signed an agreement with Niam is Medfit, which will open a 1,500 square meter facility for training, rehabilitation, and healthcare in the summer of 2023.

The planned new residential properties will increase security and density in the area, as well as create flows to Haninge Centrum. The residents will have direct access to services, public transportation, and experiences, such as Haninge Kulturhus (Haninge Culture House).

Our vision for Haninge Centrum is for it to become a place where people live their lives, work, and socialize. Everything will be within close proximity – a miniaturized 15-minute city. Niam and Haninge municipality will intensify their collaboration in the autumn and initiate the planning for the development of Haninge Centrum and its immediate surroundings. The result will be a secure and attractive city center environment with a strong focus on sustainability and a green outdoor environment, where parking spaces will be transformed into pleasant recreational areas such as leafy squares, pedestrian paths, and mini-parks. Existing parking at Haninge Centrum will be placed under buildings and outdoor environments.

"Approximately 60,000 residents could live in the central parts of Haninge by the year 2050 as we transition from suburb to city. The development of Haninge Centrum and Poseidon Square is a crucial part of this, and we are delighted to have a Centrum Developer who wants to work hand in hand with us as we build a city and develop new housing, services, culture, and green areas," says Meeri Wasberg (S), Chairman of the Municipal Board, Haninge municipality.

The development of central Haninge is an important step in Haninge municipality's transformation from suburb to city. With the new sustainable urban development plan for the regional city center, Handen, Vega, and Brandbergen will be connected, resulting in 17,000 new homes and a secure and vibrant urban environment with shops, services, restaurants, and businesses in attractive locations with good transportation connections. Haninge aims to offer secure and experiential neighborhoods, places, routes, and buildings that provide space for sports, greenery, recovery, and new energy.
