Niam and Bonnier Fastigheter have started construction on the first new production block in Värtahamnen. The groundbreaking ceremony took place today at lunchtime in Stockholm. Niam, Bonnier Fastigheter, and the City of Stockholm were present to introduce the new office block called Hangö, spanning over 26,000 square meters.

Värtahamnen is undergoing transformation to become one of Stockholm's most sustainable inner-city areas, and the new block has high environmental certification. The buildings are separate projects by each property company. Grid 17 offers 5,900 square meters of leasable space, while Portalen provides 12,000 square meters, allowing potential tenants to have their own dedicated space just 10 minutes away from Stureplan by bike.

Our Grid 17 project and the Hangö block mark the beginning of the new Värtahamnen. It's exciting to finally start building the first block together with Bonnier Fastigheter and be a part of opening up the harbor to the people of Stockholm.
Hans Lisserkers, Head of Project Development at Niam

Brunnberg & Forshed are designing Niam's building, Grid 17, while Bonnier Fastigheter's Portalen is being designed by LINK Arkitektur. Occupancy is expected in 2025/2026.
