In December 2023, Niam Credit provided an MSEK 844 financing to Rikshem with a 10-year loan term. This loan has now been converted into a sustainability-linked facility, aligning with key performance indicators (KPIs) set out in Rikshem’s sustainability-linked loan framework. These KPIs focus on enhancing safety in residential communities, promoting sustainability across the supply chain and reducing climate impact within both Rikshem’s existing portfolio and new constructions. The sustainability targets are applied at aggregated level of Rikshem’s portfolio and operations.
“As financiers, we value Rikshem’s long-term commitment to sustainability, which aligns strongly with our own sustainability ambitions at Niam. By linking this loan to measurable sustainability goals, we’re supporting impactful, long-term change that benefits communities and the environment,” says Ulrika Lööf, Head of Sustainability at Niam Credit.
“At the beginning of the year, Rikshem launched a so-called sustainability-linked loan framework that focuses on Rikshem's long-term sustainability goals. It is very satisfying that we now also are using the same objectives in our loan facility with Niam Credit. This gives us additional incentives to work towards our long-term and ambitious sustainability goals as it also contributes to better financing conditions," says Fredrik Sandell, Group Treasurer, Rikshem.
